BT Livermore
About the Artist
BT Livermore was born in Minnesota, and like all Minnesotans, is covered head to toe with a downy layer of fur with which to keep warm during the winter. He has always been making or creating, something, anything, since childhood. In 2005, he traded in six months of snow for six months of rain and moved west to Portland, Oregon. Even after vowing he’d never go back to college again, BT graduated from Pacific Northwest College of Art with a BFA degree in Illustration in May 2010; a nice addition to his AAS degree in Web Design from Minneapolis Community and Technical College from 2003. BT is also a founding member and operating manager of Magnetic North, a shared workspace for artists and makers, currently located in SE Portland.
BT’s professional skillset these days includes sign paiting and other handmade lettering, illustration, design, and screenprinting and letterpress printing. Beyond that, he has also recently been taking his life long love of wood working into a more professional practice in areas like furniture and home good creation, or functional, site-specific design and construction. Oh, and he also co-runs the moustache wax company Man’s Face Stuff.
BT is currently working with the Imagine Butte Resource Center in the Phoenix Building in Butte, MT. You can find him there in his basement studio, working on building the new fabrication lab.
